Feeling under the weather

Cape Town is cold and rainy and I've had a sinusitis head ache for a week now. I don't want to (and I don't think it necessary) drink antibiotics, so I'm trying a nasal spray and painkillers.... not that much success....

Since I've finished the Christmas quilt, I haven't really worked on anything else. I have a client who insisted I quilt her quilt on my frame with my Bernina 820. Well, I'm definitely still learning to load the quilt, batting and backing properly on the frame: she made her quilt on the diagonal, so the edges are very stretchy and I struggled to get it on the frame without buckling too much. I said to her I am NOT a professional, she said she's not either and she will be happy with whatever I do.... here is my dilemma: it took me a whole day just to load it on the frame, I'm using a pantograph pattern to quilt and I must admit that I am NOT entirely happy because the edges are looser than the middle of the quilt because of the bias, so what do I charge her... or should I rather say: do I ask anything for all my labour? I mean: I didn't want to do it, she insisted... I could have been quilting one of my own UFOs????

Today we had another teddy bear making workshop here and there was only four ladies making bears... so much easier and less stressful if the group is smaller! Thoroughly enjoyed the morning... forgot (headache?!?) to snap a picture to post, but 4 very different teddy bears, one made with a bold roses and black fabric; a pink, a blue and also a white with small roses bear were born today!

(What an uncomfortable situation you're in with that quilt. Good luck!)

    1. Thanks Carolien, yesterday I went to the physioterapist and she gave me a neck massage to relieve my headache and it worked wonders!

  2. I have no idea how to handle that kind of an issue concerning your friend's quilt. =( Yes, you should as for something, though...

    Are you feeling better?
