Finished the top!

I managed to finish the top on Sunday and baste it to the backing. Yesterday I spent the whole day just stitching in the ditch.... one can't really see the difference if you just stitch in the ditch... so this morning I started the "real" quilting. Armed with books for ideas I started on the centre block.... and am quite satisfied with the results.... not reward winning, but not mediocre either....

Yesterday was actually a terrible day for me: I had to make a horrible decision: I had to tell the vet to put my one cat down. My ginger cat called Frankie. The cat started breathing strangely over the weekend and yesterday I took him to the vet to find out it is probably a huge cancerous growth near his lung. The one lung was completely filled with fluid and only part of the other lung was still working. Frankie was only with us for 18 months....

  3. Hi Karin, I am your latest followers. Oh my heart goes out to you. So sorry to hear about your kitty. I have a little kitten of 3 months old and we have just found out that she has a problem with her back legs. I really don't want to have to make the decision that you have had. Your quilts are beautiful and I'm going to enjoy following you. I am in Harrismith in the Free State. Please send me details of your quilt shop that you run from home. Is it possible to buy fabric from you that I can see on line? Carolyn, Harrismith, OFS.

    1. Hi Carolyn, thank you for following! Putting a animal down is such a hard decision to make, Early in our marraige my husband saw my love for having pets, so we had to make a decision on how much money are we prepared to spend on sick animals.... so I had to rely on the vets recommendation.... My shop doesn't have a website yet, maybe the time has come to get the whole thing going....
